A five page paper looking at the way Geoffrey Chaucer characterized his Tales' Doctor, as well as the entire medical profession. The paper concludes that Chaucer felt that doctors are greedy souls who bilk the public while doing no good; but looking back into his era, we recognize that doctors in the middle ages actually had few tools and little knowledge with which to work.
