A 23 page paper which examines how Oliver Stone's 1991 film, "JFK," was a form of dramatic expression which presented itself as a historical docudrama,
emphasizing the collective public suspicion aroused the so-called factual findings of the Warren Commission's report on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Specifically considered is whether or not a film like "JFK" shapes history, if such a film can adequately 'make' history, if the film should be considered as a product of the historical process or as an artistic expression of history, whether or not the filmmaker has responsibilities as to historical accuracy, or is allowed to use "artistic license," and the challenges confronting filmmakers and historians concerning the depiction of actual events.
