This 5 page report discusses the 1810 Supreme Court decision of Fletcher
v. Peck and the “Yazoo Land Fraud.” In essence, the decision determined that if something is done under a law
enacted by a legitimate authority, it cannot be undone by a subsequent legislature. One legislature cannot restrain the powers of a future legislature or determine that legal
