A 20 page paper assessing change in a large hospital to allow it to achieve and maintain a one-to-one nurse-patient ratio in its ICU at all times. Kurt Lewin's change theory was used as a framework, and the hospital added three agency nurses to work in more general-care areas of the hospital to free additional hospital-employed nurses for permanent assignment only to the ICU.
