Battles have long been waged and lost throughout history, but
there is nothing quite like the technological competition that is
being pursued between the current video game industry. Just as
with any other healthy rivalry, there are always supporters
backing each side who think their product is superior to the
competition. Such is the case with the war between the two major
game manufacturers, Sony and Sega. This paper will focus on the
reason companies cannot afford to rest on their laurels even when
their product is number one on the market. In fact, it is those
very companies who need to work the hardest to stay on top.
