A 4 page paper discussing how General Motors might set about reinventing itself through its Human Resource function. The paper uses GM’s Saturn division as an example of what GM could expect to accomplish. Today it has a similar opportunity to reinvent itself, using the same concepts it experimented with in its creation of its Saturn division. Greater worker autonomy, greater transparency on the part of GM’s management and cooperation from GM’s unions all can combine to create an effective and dynamic environment in which employees are encouraged to be full contributors to and partners in the company’s purposes.
