A 13 page paper discussing conditions at Cessna Aircraft and the usefulness of organizational intervention for directing organizational change. Cessna's willingness to give customers what they want in small aircraft has been the key to its success in the past and in the present. It has made organizational changes in recent years geared toward increasing manufacturing efficiency, but those changes appear to have been implemented in the absence of a larger, grander plan. The purpose here is to identify two of these areas and then to suggest means of using them effectively for organizational development.
