This 8 page
report discusses the events of 1979. In March of 1979, American
television viewers saw the 200th episode of “All in the Family”
(the show ended with its 204th episode). NASA’s Voyager I made
it closer to Jupiter than ever before in history and was able to
show that Jupiter also has atmospheric rings and that a volcano
exists on Jupiter’s satellite of Io. China withdrew invasion
troops from Vietnam. The European Monetary System was established
and the ECU was created. However, the events taking place in Los
Angeles, California, during that same period may offer even
